About Keith
Keith J. Berets focuses his practice on the legal and business needs of his clients in connection with their technology and intellectual property transactions. He also counsels clients on the intellectual property and commercial aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and financings. His clients include multinational companies, private equity buyers and sellers, and angel and venture backed start-ups in many industries, including renewable energy, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, automotive, digital health, fintech, agtech, mobile, gaming, natural and organic food, communications, hardware, software and complex services.
Keith has counseled clients on, and crafted and negotiated agreements involving, their renewable and clean energy products, systems and solutions; AI platforms, use and integration of AI and the attendant intellectual property and ethical issues; outsourcing, consulting, licensing, distribution, development and technology transfer; electronic commerce, web and internet transactions; and other strategic relationships. He has significant experience with both domestic and international matters.
Prior to joining Cooley's Colorado office in 2000, Keith was an associate at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal in Chicago. He also worked as an extern for Judge Barbara Crabb in the United States District Court in the Western District of Wisconsin.
