About Lauren
Lauren practices in the area of business restructuring and reorganization, and she has significant experience in the transactional and litigation aspects of complex Chapter 11 reorganizations and liquidations.
Lauren advises public, private and high-growth companies in all aspects of contingency planning, risk management, and corporate governance. She represents debtors, official committees of unsecured creditors, secured creditors, lenders and trustees in Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings across a range of industries – including life sciences, biotech, healthcare, retail, technology and transportation. Lauren also has significant experience representing purchasers and sellers of assets in 363 sales and in out of court transactions.
Lauren’s representative experience includes:
- Representing debtors in Chapter 11 proceedings across various industries, including Quanergy Systems, Enjoy Technology, Dextera Surgical, Liftopia, Charlotte Russe, Republic Airways* and Ultrapetrol (Bahamas) Limited*
- Representing the official creditors’ committees in some of the most prominent Chapter 11 cases in the US, including Endo International, LTL Management (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson), Mallinckrodt, 24 Hour Fitness, JCPenney, Destination Maternity, Claire’s, rue21, Rockport, True Religion, Wet Seal, Sizmek, Z Gallerie and Violin Memory
- Representing purchasers of assets pursuant to section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, including Thirty Madison in its acquisition of assets from The Pill Club, Evox Therapeutics in its acquisition of assets from Codiak BioSciences, and National Entertainment Collectibles Association in the going-concern sales of Loot Crate and Rubie’s Costume Company
- Representing purchasers in out-of-court sale transactions, including National Entertainment Collectibles Association in its acquisition of Chia Pet and The Clapper
- Conducting investigations and litigating fraudulent conveyance, preference, breach of fiduciary duty and other causes of action on behalf of unsecured creditors and liquidating trustees, including the representation of the liquidating trustee of Health Diagnostic Laboratory

Before joining Cooley, Lauren was an associate at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, where her practice focused on representing Chapter 11 debtors and the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) trustee in the Lehman Brothers liquidation.
While in law school, Lauren served as the executive notes and comments editor for the Journal of Law and Policy, and she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She also received the American Bankruptcy Law Journal student prize.
