Matthew Scheideman

Dr. Matthew Scheideman has developed expertise in various aspects of drug research and development from a decade of experience as a medicinal chemist in both the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. He strives to apply this firsthand experience by helping clients build and maintain robust patent portfolios in a number of therapeutic and technology areas. Matt’s practice includes drafting complex patent applications, prosecuting multi-jurisdictional patent applications, and assisting with freedom-to-operate, invalidity and patentability opinions.

Matt completed his PhD in organic chemistry, where he focused his research on the development of novel synthetic reaction methods. Upon completion of his graduate studies, Matt served as a postdoctoral associate at Yale University in the department of chemistry. During this time, Matt worked on the total syntheses of natural products with complex molecular architecture.

From his time in industry and academia, Matt has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and is an inventor on multiple US and international patents.
