About Monica

Monica is an associate in the business litigation department in Cooley’s London office. She advises on a broad range of cross-jurisdictional commercial disputes and regulatory investigations – with a focus on technology and life sciences.

Monica’s representative experience includes:

  • Working on the successful defence of a High Court claim brought by Cardiorentis AG against IQVIA, the world’s largest clinical research organisation, for more than $330 million in damages for alleged breaches of services provided in respect of a global clinical trial
  • Representing a core participant in the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry and in respect of follow-on litigation and alternative dispute resolution
  • Advising a number of C-suite executives in relation to regulatory investigations brought by various UK regulators, as well as in respect of a high-profile public inquiry
  • Regularly advising pharmaceutical companies in relation to contractual disputes, including in respect of clinical trials and manufacturing agreements
  • Advising technology clients in respect of litigation risks for product launches, as well as regarding best practice considerations for managing such risks
  • Representing a global technology company in a large cross-jurisdictional internal investigation

While training, Monica undertook a secondment at a subsidiary company of eBay. Before joining Cooley, Monica worked at the Office of Communications (Ofcom), the UK regulator for telecommunications and broadcasting, gaining regulatory and policy experience across three regulated sectors.

Monica is committed to improving access to justice through pro bono instructions, including by regularly advising at the Citizens Advice Bureau of the Royal Courts of Justice and successfully representing pro bono clients with their Personal Independence Payment (PIP) appeals.
