About Paul
Paul Roberts has 20+ years of international and financial services tax experience structuring complex transactions for investors and investment groups. He has advised a wide variety of global asset management clients and their investors, including venture capital funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, mutual funds, real estate funds and funds of funds.
Paul helps clients structure investment funds, design effective tax strategies and report investment activity. He has worked with investors, fund managers, sponsors and GPs to successfully navigate their way through complex cross-border fund and investment structures. His work has mostly involved matters spanning multiple jurisdictions. He is adept at consistently achieving highly beneficial outcomes, whether representing buyers or sellers of assets.
Prior to joining Cooley, Paul was an international tax partner at PwC, where he handled tax issues for global asset management clients. He is a licensed CPA in California and Maryland.
Paul has also taught in the Master of Accounting program at St. Mary’s College of California and sits on the Dean’s Advisory Board at the St. Mary’s School of Economics and Business Administration.
