About Philip
Philip’s practice focuses on the patent life cycle, including preparation, prosecution and counseling. He has experience working with clients across a diverse range of technologies and industries, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, medical devices, battery systems, automotive (mechanical and software systems), manufacturing equipment, banking and insurance systems, and consumer products.
Before joining Cooley, Philip was a patent agent at an international law firm, a systems engineer for Boeing and an optomechanical engineer for a defense contractor. During his time at the University of Michigan, Philip worked as an electronics/engineering technician on the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) and as a research assistant analyzing failure patterns in composite turbine blades.
