About Rachel
Rachel’s practice focuses on counseling a broad range of clients, including insureds, brokers and insurtech companies. She regularly advises on claims and coverage issues in the areas of directors and officers (D&O) liability, employment practices liability (EPL), cyber liability, professional/errors and omissions (E&O) liability, human clinical trial liability, and commercial general liability (CGL), as well as dealing with complex insurance product development and insurance disputes.
In particular, she frequently counsels clients in the bankruptcy context and ahead of initial public offerings, including through special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) transactions.
Rachel also has experience advising private institutions, including colleges and universities, on risk management issues and complex insurance claims involving accusations of sexual abuse and other misconduct; sports-related injuries, including concussions; and employment-related claims, including improper poaching and wrongful termination.
Additionally, Rachel provides insurance-related advice on mergers and acquisitions, assisting in the procurement and negotiation of representation and warranty (R&W) insurance, conducting insurance-related diligence, and advising on insurance regulatory matters. She also maintains an active pro bono practice.
Before joining Cooley, Rachel was an associate at a boutique insurance coverage and litigation firm, where she served as coverage and litigation counsel to domestic and international insurers.
