About Robby

Robby Saldaña focuses his practice on government investigations, advocacy in trial and appellate litigation and advising clients on litigation risks. Drawing on three years of clerkship experience at the federal district and appellate levels, Robby seeks to resolve challenging constitutional, statutory and administrative law questions. Robby maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing his efforts on immigration law and asylum cases.

Before joining Cooley, Robby clerked for Judge Cynthia A. Bashant of the US District Court for the Southern District of California and Judge Milan D. Smith, Jr. of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Robby worked at another law firm in Washington, DC prior to clerking.  

Robby is a first generation university and professional school graduate. While in law school, Robby served as a legal student intern in the Worker and Immigrant Rights Clinic, an article editor for the Yale Journal of Law and Feminism, co-chair of the Latino/a Law Students Association (now the Latinx Law Students Association), co-director of the 2013 Rebellious Lawyering Conference and co-director of Yale Law’s 2014 Critical Race Theory Conference. Robby is fluent in Spanish.
