Sale works with high-growth emerging companies, startup founders and venture capital investors in many different industries, advising them on company formations, venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic, commercial and general corporate matters over the full life cycle of his clients.

The Legal 500 US recognized Sale as a Next Generation Partner in Venture Capital and Emerging Companies from 2021 through 2024. Sale frequently speaks on various topics relating to startups and venture capital at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford Law School and California Western School of Law, and he served as a member of the investment committee for the Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs (SA&E). 

Fluent in Korean, Sale also is actively involved in various South Korean organizations in the startup/venture ecosystem – including the Korea Innovation Center Silicon Valley (KIC-SV), Korea Development Bank (KDB), Korea International Trade Association (KITA), Korea Investment Corporation (KIC), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and Korea Venture Investment Corporation (KVIC).

Sale served as a captain in the Republic of Korea Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and represented South Korea in various defense procurement deals.

While in law school, he completed an externship with US District Judge Vaughn R. Walker of the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
