About Stefan
Stefan focuses his practice on executive compensation and employee benefits, particularly in the context of mergers, acquisitions, initial public offerings (IPOs) and other corporate transactions. He also advises clients on tax rules related to deferred compensation and Section 280G parachute payments.
Before joining Cooley, Stefan served as a judge advocate general in the US Navy for five years. During his tenure, he handled a range of responsibilities, including litigating courts-martial, serving as staff judge advocate to the installation commander, and advising the US Department of Defense official overseeing the prosecutions of individuals detained at Guantanamo Bay.
