About Stephanie
Stephanie represents individuals and companies in complex commercial disputes and criminal proceedings in federal and state courts. She has worked with a broad range of corporate clients – from startups to publicly traded companies – across numerous industries, including education technology, life sciences and telecommunications. Stephanie’s practice also includes a particular focus on copyright and trademark litigation and the representation of major law firms in cases involving allegations of malpractice.
Stephanie also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on housing and immigration matters. In recognition of her commitment to pro bono legal services, the Legal Aid Society named her one of its 2021 Pro Bono Publico Award recipients.
Stephanie’s representative matters include:
- Representing a top education technology company in complex copyright litigation.
- Obtaining a favorable settlement on behalf of a major technology company in a trademark dispute in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
- Successfully defending a major law firm and individual attorneys against claims of malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty in arbitration proceedings.
- Obtaining a favorable settlement on behalf of an innovative personal care products company in a dispute in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York arising from alleged manufacturing defects.
- Defending a publicly traded Australian telecommunications company in a dispute arising from the acquisition of a video content company.
- Successfully defending through trial a chain of medical clinics against breach of contract, fraud, and equitable accounting claims brought by a former employee following sale of the company.
- Defending an individual charged with bribery and fraud in connection with an alleged NCAA basketball corruption scheme.
- Obtaining a noncarceral sentence on behalf of an individual charged with failing to report a foreign financial account, in conjunction with an international bribery investigation.
- Representing plaintiff investors in the Delaware Court of Chancery in a dispute against pharmaceutical companies for failure to make required milestone payments under a merger agreement, resulting in a favorable judgment on the pleadings.
- Obtaining relief under the United Nations Convention Against Torture on behalf of a young man who fled El Salvador as a minor after multiple violent gang attacks on him and his family, achieving his release from immigration detention during the COVID-19 pandemic through successful petition for writ of habeas corpus.
