There are few greater thrills than helping to ensure the best possible outcome for our clients by transforming conflict into collaboration.
About Summer
Summer’s practice focuses on both the transactional and litigation aspects of business reorganizations, both in and out of court, across a wide range of industries, including technology, private equity, healthcare and life sciences. While she frequently represents creditors’ committees and debtors, she also enjoys advising clients on a wide variety of solvency-related issues, including distressed investing opportunities, section 363 acquisitions, creditor rights and a diverse array of bankruptcy-related issues.
Summer’s experience in complex insolvency litigation has played a key role in generating positive outcomes for Cooley clients – most recently in Avon (AIO US), Endo International, Mallinckrodt and LTL Management (Johnson & Johnson), where Cooley represented official creditor committees, and in Fisker Automotive, where Cooley represented the Fisker Owners Association.
Summer also has significant experience representing purchasers and sellers of assets in section 363 sales and out-of-court transactions, including, most recently, ZOLL Medical in its acquisition of Vyaire’s ventilation business unit (363 sale) and Iron Mountain in its acquisition of Clutter Holdings.
Summer sits on both the firm’s pro bono committee and diversity committee and is a passionate advocate for Cooley’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
