About Thomas
Tom Connors focuses his practice on technology related transactions, including counseling clients on the protection and exploitation of technologies and intellectual property rights, and operational issues relating to data security and privacy. Tom represents emerging companies, large corporations, and venture capital and private equity firms and their portfolio companies with respect to various commercial transactions driven by the creation, use, license, sale, or acquisition of intangible assets, technology assets and related intellectual property rights. He has particular experience with drafting and negotiating intellectual property, data and software license agreements, master services, SaaS and terms of use/service agreements, supply, manufacturing and distribution agreements, OEM and reseller agreements and strategic alliance and joint venture arrangements.
Tom also structures, drafts and negotiates acquisitions and transfers of intellectual property and information technology assets, as well as the intellectual property and technology components of stock and asset purchase agreements, merger agreements and private equity and venture capital investments.
Prior to joining Cooley, Tom was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis on the west coast and worked in the technology transactions and IP litigation practices of other leading law firms in New York and Boston.
