About Tian
Tian focuses her practice on patent preparation, patent prosecution and IP due diligence in corporate transactions. She is experienced in working with diverse technologies in the life sciences sector, including antibodies, biologics, cancer therapeutics and next-generation sequencing technologies.
As a scientist, Tian studied protein biochemistry in microbial and mammalian systems. Her PhD thesis focused on enzyme biochemistry and genetic engineering in thermophilic bacteria for improved ethanol production. Prior to joining Cooley, Tian was a scientist at University of Washington. Her published work includes a book chapter, as well as 11 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
