About Urvashi
Urvashi handles a wide variety of complex securities and commercial litigation matters in federal and state court. She also has experience conducting internal investigations and defending clients in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and Department of Justice (DOJ). Urvashi maintains a robust pro bono practice and has represented clients in criminal, immigration and eviction proceedings.
At the University of Chicago Law School, Urvashi participated in the Mental Health Advocacy Project, working on conditional release petitions for individuals in court-ordered mental health residential treatment facilities, as well as in the Exoneration Project, working on post-conviction criminal appeals. She externed for Associate Justice Goodwin H. Liu of the Supreme Court of California, and at the University also served as president of the South Asian Law Students Association and co-founder and president of the California Law Students Association.
Before law school, Urvashi interned at the Washington, D.C., and San Francisco offices of the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, working on public policy and constituent services issues. She also interned at the San Francisco District Attorney’s office, where she assisted in the first prosecution under San Francisco’s zero-tolerance policy for human trafficking.
Before joining Cooley, Urvashi worked as a litigation associate at another Silicon Valley law firm.
