Rimeto Sells to Slack to Strengthen Employee Profiles + Collaboration

July 10, 2020

San Francisco – July 10, 2020 – Cooley advised employee directory company Rimeto on its sale to Slack, a publicly traded messaging platform. Partner Dave Young led the team advising Rimeto on the transaction.

Rimeto offers a powerful cultural tool that can help strengthen employees’ ties to each other and their work. Its enterprise-wide, searchable directory automatically integrates information from across a company to deliver rich profiles of every employee, their skills, experience and current projects. As part of the acquisition, Rimeto’s features will be integrated into Slack directly, but Slack will also continue to offer Rimeto as a standalone product and support its existing enterprise customers.

“We’ve been on a mission to help everyone easily find and understand their colleagues and all of the groups, teams and projects within their organization,” Ted Zagat, Rimeto co-founder, said in a statement. “Joining Slack is a special opportunity to accelerate the impact and reach of the product we’ve spent years building. We couldn’t be more excited to help make Slack an even better platform for bringing human connection and collaboration to life.”

Rimeto was founded in San Francisco by Zagat and fellow former Facebook employees Neville Bowers and Maxwell Hayman in 2016. Cooley has advised the company since its inception, including on its $10 million Series A round in May 2019.
