Heather's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including the defense of securities class actions brought under the Securities Act of 1933 and Securities Exchange Act of 1934, derivative suits, shareholder demands and government investigations. She has represented companies in a variety of industries, including biotechnology, financial and other technology, gaming and software. Working alongside other members of Cooley’s litigation team, she has successfully defended numerous class actions in federal and state court, including securing numerous dismissals at the motion to dismiss stage. She also has substantial experience representing clients in investigations by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”), as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and Department of Justice (“DOJ”).
