About Mariah
Mariah focuses her practice on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial and technology matters. She advises clients at all stages of litigation, including fact development, discovery, deposition preparation, motion practice, trial and appeals. She also has an active pro bono practice. Before joining Cooley, Mariah was a law clerk to the Honorable Mary M. Rowland of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
During law school, Mariah was a Racial Justice Scholarship recipient in recognition of her demonstrated commitment to advancing justice for underrepresented racial minorities. She worked in the MacArthur Justice Center Civil Rights Clinic representing victims of police misconduct on the trial and appellate levels and assisted Chicago-area nonprofit organizations with legal and policy initiatives. She also served in various leadership roles, including managing criminology editor of Northwestern’s Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, vice president of the Black Law Students Association and co-chair of the Julius H. Miner Moot Court Competition.
Before law school, Mariah worked in communications for a national labor organization and as a paralegal at a large firm in Washington, DC.
