About Shira

Shira Nadich Levin, co-chair of Cooley's leasing practice group, has extensive experience in commercial real estate matters, including office, retail, shopping center, industrial and warehouse leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, financings and construction projects. She represents developers and owners with respect to all stages of owning and managing real property, as well as first-class commercial tenants and subtenants throughout the US. She also advises condominium associations and cooperative housing corporations.

Recent matters include:

  • The acquisition and leasing of several major office, warehouse, shopping center and industrial properties, principally in Manhattan and the greater New York metropolitan area.
  • The refinancing of two major New York City office buildings.
  • The management of several Class A office buildings in New York and the sale of holdings (valued in excess of $90 million) in multiple residential properties in New York City.
  • Securing and closing a $380 million synthetic lease for new client headquarters.

Shira is co-chair of The Cooley’s Women’s Initiative, which works to attract, retain and mentor a strong network of female attorneys. She is also the Deputy Global Chair of WILEF (Women in Law Empowerment Forum) and has spoken on panels for WILEF, NAWL (National Association of Women Lawyers) and NYLMA (New York Legal Marketing Association).

Shira is rated AV Preeminent (5.0 out of 5) by the Peer Review Rating of Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and has been named as one of New York's "Super Lawyers" for the past five years. Shira is active in many charitable organizations, including the Abraham Joshua Heschel School, a pluralistic day school in New York City, having served as president of its board and where she now serves as an honorary trustee and on the Executive Committee, and Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, where she serves on the board and its Executive Committee. She also represents many not-for-profit entities on a pro bono basis.
