About Yichen
Yichen advises emerging growth companies and venture capital investors across all industries, guiding them through every stage of the startup life cycle. His practice spans company formations, venture financing, corporate governance, equity issuances, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, flip transactions, and other strategic corporate matters critical to scaling and growth.
Yichen is fluent in Mandarin and experienced in cross-border transactions with Asia-based clients.
Before joining Cooley, Yichen was an associate in the restructuring group at a US-based international law firm.
Yichen received his JD from Yale Law School, where he served as a student fellow at the Paul Tsai China Center and as a features editor of the Yale Journal of International Law. While at law school, Yichen also completed an externship with Justice Ming W. Chin on the Supreme Court of California.
