India Business Law Journal Recognizes String of Cooley-Led Transactions as Deals of the Year
Singapore – February 10, 2021 – India Business Law Journal recognized four Cooley-led transactions as 2020 Deals of the Year, an honor that highlights the most significant India-related deals and disputes and the law firms that worked tirelessly to bring them to fruition.
The Cooley matters that made the list include:
- Byju's US$300 million acquisition of WhiteHat Jr
- Mastercard's acquisition of Finicity for up to US$985 million
- Mobile Premier League’s US$90 million Series C funding round
- Razorpay's US$100 million Series D funding round
Following intensive research and consultation, IBLJ selected as winners 50 landmark deals and disputes that closed, or had a significant development, between December 1, 2019, and November 30, 2020. The deals and cases were chosen based on transactional data, submissions received from Indian and international law firms and interviews with India-focused legal and corporate professionals. In deciding the winning deals and cases, IBLJ’s editorial team evaluated the significance of all shortlisted contenders from a legal and regulatory standpoint. Deals were chosen not only for their size, but for the novelty and complexity of the transaction or case and for any precedents that may have been established.
